The Battle of Okeechobee was the largest battle of the Second Seminole War which lasted from 1835 to 1842. In December of 1837 the U.S. Forces, led by future President Zachary Taylor, met the Seminole Indians near Lake Okeechobee. All photos here were taken during a re-enactment held in Okeechobee, Florida on Sunday, February 1, 2009.
